Baseball and It’s Beauty

More often than not people over look baseball for football for the simple fact of its intensity. But I ask you is football a sport that gives everyone a chance? No football is unforgiving and merciless while baseball gives to all and serves as a safe haven to those who aren’t the most physical fit or gifted. Because you can work at it, like R.A. Dickey a man who will soon have a movie picture made after his life. From being a talented prospect throughout high school and college to the lowest of lows. Dickey was born without a tendon in his pitching arm and faced a chose take a million dollars now and never play again or try again and become something more. He chose the long and difficult road to be more and boy was it some road. Dickey traveled back and forth from a total of 32 minor league teams to pursue the dream of any little kid to be a ball player. He finally got his big break in the later 2000’s with a 2-year deal with the New York Mets. And man was it beautiful, some dorky kid who faced adversity and spit in its face was a MLB pitcher who threw a knuckle ball. See that’s the beauty of baseball any kid who has a dream to play can, its not about talent or being a physically gifted its about the determination of that dorky kid and the game will do the rest.

Memory

I can honestly say that I can remember mostly anything, really anything. I can tell you the first day I had ever met you and when I did. Yet I can’t seem to remember when an assignment is do. It’s a bit of a curse to be honest, all it takes is one little distraction and poof its gone right then and there. That is probably the biggest issue of all, I got a gift of a memory but the attention span of a nat. Can you see the problem? But I’ve had a saving grace through the whole thing. My teacher happens to be a wonderful lady, who understands her students and is forgiving. I haven’t seen a teacher who has cared more about her students than her, as well as someone as nice as her. I will never forget my teacher, I first met her in the 8th grade and I was one of those punks yet she would never give up on you. Then my second year of high school she was my creative writing teacher, yet again the same amazing lady helped me become a better person. And finally my senior she is my journalism teacher and I couldn’t think of anybody else I’d rather have than her. I guess what I have been wanting to say is thank you for being the great teacher you’ll always be and thank you for everything.

The Last Year

There’s a lot of last things this year like my last year in High School, the last time I see certain people, and the last time a hero of mine is retiring. Leaving HS is going to be different and not seeing people I cared about will suck but nothing will hurt more than seeing one of Baseball’s greats leaving the game. Most people already know how much Baseball means to me, but loosing the shortstop you looked up to your entire career sucks. This will be Derek Jeter’s last season in a Yankee uniform and the last time the world will see the greatest shortstop to ever live. For the kids who come after my era the eras after, I hope the gold standard will be called the Jeter standard. And yes I did capitalize Baseball because it’s not a game, it’s a way of life and every little kids dream. Respect it.

Creativity Lacking

I couldn’t tell you the last time I had a creative story. I don’t think I lack in the creative department, I just think there’s nothing that has interested me in awhile. Not a person, a car, a game, a place, or a book its all been empty. It’s like everything is in fast forward and I don’t have to appreciate the people and all around even though I do. Everyone of them makes something special about each day, it something special being apart of their story everyday. Or having them care for you, it makes each day important because we all make an impact on each others life.

Words are Weapons

More often than not there are words you say to people which you wish you hadn’t. Words are what stick with us. People say actions speak louder than words, but I refuse to accept that. What we remember is what is said, not something thrown or a punch those are forgivable but you can’t take back what you say. Sometimes what you can say will destroy friendships or what isn’t said can. So explain to me if you can, what is more powerful words or actions?

What Grinds My Gears

Moreover than most I end up looking like a bad guy because I have the decency of telling you what you deserve to hear. It isn’t my fault what I have to say is hurtful, most likely you brought it upon yourself. I just happen to judge the kind of person you are and if I see something I call it out. But what really grinds my gears is when people call you out on something and don’t really know what is going on. You had a bad weekend cause somebody was sick? Cry me a river, I know what constitutes a bad weekend and don’t try to compare it’ll be apples to oranges. I’ll make you look like a jester and be the main joke, so sit down and cram it. And once you understand what a bad weekend is composed of come and talk to me, before you cast judgments.

Say Goodbye

Call it what you want death, eternal rest or passing we all have to say goodbye at sometime. You never know when your time will be up but I like to think when you do its a happy note. Like you figured out what love really is or acceptance of something that most can’t do. It will take a toll on the people who care about you but the nice thing is you left a mark nobody ever could. All I’m trying to say I guess is that there will be that one moment in life where you’ll be on cloud Nine and can’t be touched. And it’ll be your best Goodbye.

It’s a Game

I was told the day the game stops loving you is the day you’re done. I never wanted to understand what it meant rather I figured out the real meaning of it. It isn’t the game that stops loving you but more the people who decide your fate, whether they love who you are says if the game will stop. The irony is just too much to actually think about for me, the game I love the one that loves me, can be taking away by somebody who could care less for me? That’s why it’s just a game to them.

The Lost

A long time ago we were told a tale of a group of five men who were evil in every way possible. They ruled in individual kingdoms being ruthless in their conquests. As the rulers grew in age they looked to each other to maintain their iron rule and combined their kingdoms. It was said they felt no guilt, sympathy or restraint as they purged towns of their people. As each of the kings died one by one they made a dying bargain with God to allow them another chance at life, to do good this time around. God had allowed them this dying wish and made a group given the name The Lost. Not much is known of The Lost, it is said that they are segregated from the world. A group of lone wanders sentenced to walk the earth for eternity. Dressed in cloaks nobody has ever seen the face of a Lost, rumors are their aged men of a hundred or so years. They say The Lost disappear as fast as they are seen, making brief appearances in cities, towns or empires. And for as fast as they appear and leave the cities are gone in a flash. No fighting or resistance goes on the people disappear like they were never there in the first place. All that is left in the city is a letter with the message ” We once walked the earth as you did ruthless, unsympathetic and guiltless. But there are things in life that need to be learned and of these evils committed death is the penalty for these people. We wish to teach you of the atrocities of this world and stand up for what is right. We are The Lost.”

The Four Horsemen

A group of magicians sworn to uphold and to protect the secrecy of magic. A gift for those who are worthy to bear its power, to help the people through tough times. The Horsemen are much more than your average Robin Hood, they are the guardians for the people. To take back what they were cheated of money, happiness, love, personal gain or whatever it may be they will be there to insure justice. They are the Eye they will see every misfortune and every unjust deed in this world and they will be one step, four steps, seven steps ahead of whatever you are thinking. And right before a blink of an eye they will sweep you from your feet, swarm your imagination and show you what’s magical about life.
